Integrative Medicine
Dr. Robert Pendergrast studied music at Furman University before receiving his M.D. degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1983. He has a Master of Public Health degree from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Pendergrast has been for most of his career a faculty member in pediatrics at the Medical College of Georgia and continues to take care of children and teens and teach students and residents there. After completing the Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine in 2005, he opened Aiken Augusta Holistic Health as a way for adults in our community to experience the Integrative Medicine difference, while he continues caring for children and teens at the Medical College. He is a board certified pediatrician, trained and experienced in Integrative Medicine, certified in clinical hypnosis by the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, and passionate about learning and teaching nutritional medicine and herbal medicine. He believes that immunizations provide a safe way for children to develop natural immunity against dangerous diseases and sees this as an important part of the holistic care he provides for the children in his practice at the Medical College. At this AAHH office he is delighted to provide holistic integrative health consults for adults up to the age of 65.

Gail Pendergrast graduted from Georgia Baptist School of Nursing in 1980 and got her BSN from Medical College of Georgia in 1981 and her graduate degree in community health nursing University of Southern Missisippi in 1985. Her coaching certification completed in 2009 is from an acredited ICF program, International Coach Academy. She is a certified Parent Effectiveness Trainer and conducts seminars and workshops for businesses and employees on subjects such as stress management, eating health and understanding the power of thought. She has done workshops for non-profits and companies such as Verizon, Club Car, T Mobile, and other businesses. Her one-on-one work with clients focuses on helping them own their health and their life through life management skills, the power of thought and accountability.
Registered Dietitian, Integrative and Functional Nutritionist
Karen received her BS degree from Winthrop University and completed her Dietetic Internship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
She is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, licensed in Georgia and South Carolina and a Certified Diabetes Educator.
She also has a Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management.
She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and is a member of the AND practice groups: Sports, Cardiovascular & Wellness Nutrition, Dietitians in Integrative & Functional Medicine, Women’s Health, Healthy Aging and Oncology Nutrition.
Genea Johnson,

Acupuncture and Massage Therapy
A native of South Carolina, Genea began pursuing a career in acupuncture after receiving it for her own health conditions. Chinese Medicine treated her condition with long-lasting results and no side effects. Based on these results, she felt compelled to offer health care to the community. She considers herself a complementary health practitioner, working alongside medical practitioners and patients to treat unresolved medical issues. Her specialties include acute and chronic pain conditions and Women’s health, but she welcomes all patients with a myriad of conditions.
Genea graduated from Dragon Rises College in Gainesville, FL, home of the thorough Shen-Hammer Pulse Diagnostic System. This pulse system is exceptionally effective for identifying past conditions, current conditions and culminating illnesses yet to manifest itself in the body. She is also a graduate of the Southeastern Institute of Massage, with nine years of experience as a Licensed Massage Therapist. She utilizes acupuncture, along with massage, gua sha and cupping to help alleviate pain and treat neuromuscular conditions. She is a NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine) certified Acupuncturist and a member of AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association).
Her hobbies include enjoying her pets, taking hikes amongst beautiful trees, and visiting Folly Beach, SC.
Rossiter/coach assisted stretching
Joseph Pendergrast has been well known in the Atlanta theater scene for years as someone that dancers and actors who were stiff and sore could call on for help. His unique sensitivity to body mechanics has helped many professionals to keep going with more comfort. After his degree from Kennesaw State in Musical Theater, he was certified as an athletic trainer, and then obtained Level 1 and Level 2 Rossiter Certification. Still based in Atlanta, he is available in the Augusta area periodically to assist clients here.
Marriage & Family Counselor
Alice obtained her Masters of Science (MS) in Marriage and Family counseling from Walden
University in 2017. She received her Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology from Augusta State
University in 2014. Alice has been trained in parent education, play therapy techniques, family
systems therapy and trauma-focus cognitive behavior therapy. She offers evening and weekend
appointments to meet the needs of her clients. Alice offers individual adult/child therapy, family
therapy, couples sessions, and parent education. Alice’s focus is working with couples and families in time of crisis to minimize the affectson the family unit. Her goal is to educate clients on ways to navigate conflict in order to reduce the stress and anxiety many couples/families face during times of conflict. She
works with families to promote healthy communication, conflict management, and
setting appropriate boundaries for children and teens. Serving ages 6 and older.
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
Kim Beavers is a registered dietitian nutritionist, author, and speaker. She specializes in wellness, disease prevention, and culinary nutrition. Her passion is to translate nutrition recommendations into actionable steps and delicious food strategies that clients can implement to improve their health, performance, and reduce risk of disease. She strives to educate, empower and encourage clients to make sustainable lifestyle changes. Kim holds a Bachelor and Master of Science degree in Health Sciences from James Madison University. She is a Certified Diabetes Educator and a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND). She is also a member of several AND practice groups including the Food and Culinary Professionals, Diabetes Care and Education, and Nutrition Entrepreneurs groups.
